Tuning in to Kids in-person facilitator training is a 2-day professional development workshop that gives trainees a grounding in the concepts of Emotional Intelligence and Emotion Coaching.

RMHC brings together mental health professionals, government, peer workers and people with lived experience to progress mental health and wellbeing for all rural and remote communities. The Conference will tackle sensitive issues like addressing substance use, violence and family dynamics in rural mental health, while also highlighting innovative pathways to inclusive and accessible mental health support and peer support models. Experts will share culturally safe and holistic approaches to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander wellbeing in rural and remote communities as well as talking about workforce barriers and hybrid delivery models.

This online training aims to provide a comprehensive grounding in the complexities of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessment for children and adolescents. Following the training you should be able to identify autism in the clients you see and refer appropriately for further assessment.

Infants, children, and adolescents typically don't present to mental health services alone. There are usually others involved, requiring the consideration of a systemic approach to assessment, diagnosis, formulation & treatment planning. These "others" may range from immediate carers to the schools the young person attends, or to wider service providers such as GPs, Child Protection, Family Services, Paediatricians, or a variety of private services.

The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule Second Edition (ADOS-2) is a semi-structured, standardised assessment of communication, social interaction, and play. It provides a series of standardised contexts in which the individual's social communication, and repetitive, stereotyped behaviours can be observed. It has been designed to assist in the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder and is a complementary instrument to the Autism Diagnostic Interview Revised (ADI-R). Standardised toys and activities are used to present opportunities for social and communicative interaction with the examiner. A diagnostic algorithm consistent with DSM-V and ICD-10 clinical diagnoses is generated.
